With its legendary reputation for creating instant millionaires, Major Millions remains the most popular slot ever released by Microgaming. Even after the introduction of Mega Moolah - the progressive with a million dollar top prize, Major Million’s popularity shows no sign of declining, and there are now three different versions of the game, each linked to the giant progressive jackpot.

The original Major Millions is a 3 reel, three pay line classically styled slot, with a military theme and a fixed coin size of $1. Betting 3 coins qualifies you to win the progressive jackpot which is paid when three major millions symbols appear on the third enabled pay line. The Major Millions symbol is wild and substitutes for all other symbols, multiplying the payout on any winning combination it creates. A single Major Millions doubles the payout, whereas two major millions quadruple the winnings.

Major Millions is also available in a five reel, fifteen pay line enhanced version with a fixed coin size of 20 cents and a fifteen coin maximum bet. The Major Millions symbol is still the wild card, but in this version completing a win with Major Millions triples your payout. To win the progressive jackpot, you need to line up five major millions on the fifteenth active pay line.

The 5 reel game also includes a Scatter symbol – the animated cash explosion, with 3, 4 or 5 scatters multiplying the credits staked by 3, 10 and 50 times respectively. The slot continues the “Major theme” with high quality animating graphics featuring the emblems of the military - tanks, planes, ammo boxes and battleships but in a comical, non-aggressive way.

In early 2006, Microgaming released a third version of the slot for those players who are really serious about taking home the jackpot. The Major Millions Mega Spin release of the slot is a multi play version of the original 3 reel progressive, giving players the opportunity to play six machines at once. Coins size can be adjusted between 0.10c and $1, although like the 3 reel machine, you need to be playing max bet in order to qualify to win the jackpot.

With the jackpot paying a minimum of $250,000, Major Millions has to date created several millionaire winners, the first being Tony P whose winning spin in May 2002 netted him an amazing $1,594,649.21. Less than a year later, the record was broken again when Ron H won a progressive jackpot worth over $1,626,184.

Yet Major Millions doesn’t always have a chance to climb to such heady heights – in November 2006 a lucky player did the unimaginable – hitting the progressive jackpot twice in just one night. The first win was for an impressive $432.179.90, and just three hours later when the jackpot had increased by just $642.40, lightning really did strike twice when the second jackpot dropped in at the same casino for an additional $250,642.40.

So whether you are playing the 3 reel classic, the five reel enhanced version or the high rolling mega spin version, your chance of winning a “Major” jackpot is just a spin away on Major Millions.
